I am the son of immigrants. My family left a regime that did not encourage the economic freedoms of its citizens. We have to keep the United States the "shining city on a hill" as stated by Reagan. I am part of the Reagan Coalition.

Obama Going Against Jobs With Keystone Decision

1/18/12

obama economy

The economy has been stagnant Obama's entire term... But instead of allowing the free market to work -- Obama puts the environmentalists ahead of everybody else.

How small a faction in the US are these environmentalists? Seriously. And why do they have so much control over policy decisions being made in Washington? What the United States does with respect to the environment pales in comparison to what China and India are doing. And those countries are expected to get worse at a 10% clip.

If the United States does not partner up with Canada on this project, the Prime Minister of Canada said they will work with China instead.

"Unfortunately Prime Minister Harper of Canada just this week said because of the volatile indecisiveness on the part of this president, that they feel they are being held hostage and they will take their energy elsewhere specifically to Asia and China," Jack Gerard, president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, told Fox News Radio. (foxnews.com)

These environmentalist nut jobs want to give more power, more money, more influence to China despite the fact that they are far worse in defending the environment than the US. Ridiculous. Canada is far more Liberal than the US and if they have no problem to produce the oil sands, then we should not have any problem transporting it.

  • What about bailing out the American people from our dependence on foreign oil?
  • What about bailing out the American people from economic competition with China?
  • What about bailing out the American people with jobs?
  • What about bailing out companies that seek to expand and become more profitable?

This is how the NRDC defends their decision.

"It is not in the national interest to lock the United States into supporting an expensive and dirty form of oil for many years to come. Also, additional capacity for tar sands oil perpetuates America's addiction to oil, and undermines the clean energy alternatives," the NRDC report says.

Okay fine. This form of oil might be dirty. But all forms of energy is dirty. And if we don't attempt to tap into Canada's reserves for it, it will still be made but just shipped to China. So our decision is going to do nothing to stop the production of this oil, only hinder our ability to tap into it and help China become even stronger economically.

The other thing it says is it "perpetuates America's addiction to oil". Of course! We need oil. We are dependent on it. That is why we need this pipeline. It is like saying feeding people perpetuates their need to eat. So we won't give them food. Idiots!

This is a lose-lose-lose-lose situation for the United States. When we have $5 gasoline later in the year, you can thank this decision and don't say I did not warn you.
