I am the son of immigrants. My family left a regime that did not encourage the economic freedoms of its citizens. We have to keep the United States the "shining city on a hill" as stated by Reagan. I am part of the Reagan Coalition. Some of the pictures from this site comes from: donkeyhotey |
Share Colorado is Trying to Lower College Tuition for Illegal Immigrants1/24/12
According to the article: This is the sixth time state lawmakers have tried to make college more affordable to illegal immigrants, who don't qualify for the less-expensive in-state tuition. Out-of-state tuition can be up to five times higher, and supporters said that's an obstacle many college-bound illegal immigrants raised in the U.S. can't overcome. What upsets many Conservatives about this is the fact that out of state American citizens are forced to pay more tuition for the same education that these illegal immigrants pay. This is a complex issue as most immigration issues tend to be. Democrats would argue that these out-of-state students are able to apply within their own state for a reduced tuition. But that the children of illegal immigrants have no other way to get an affordable degree. And if the federal government is unwilling to deport them, it is better that they be educated and become contributing members of society. This is the argument Rick Perry gave prior to his collapse as GOP leader in the 2012 election. Some would argue that they are more benefit to society if they are able to get an education and contribute to society rather than be recipients of government aid the rest of their lives or resorting to a life of crime. Ultimately it is the fault of the federal government for dropping the ball in regards to illegal immigration. I am not so Conservative on immigration issues involving children. Bu I am all for states handling immigration issues as we see fit. So if that means Arizona will ask for the immigration status of residents, I am all for it so long as it will not resort to racial profiling. But then again, whenever I travel abroad as an American, I am told that I MUST carry documentation with me at all times. And in Panama, I was once approached by the cops to show my Visa. America has a far too liberal policy regarding immigration. I am very conservative in the following ways:
We should fix those immigration issues, at least that would be a start. The opinions herein are not supported by any community or organization. It is just the personal opinions of a blogger. But that is what allows me to be a loose cannon for the truth. I will be updating this site daily with what goes on in the world of politics and the economy.
