Soldiers That Burned Qurans to Face Trial2/29/12 The Afghanistan government has decided to put the soldiers on trial for the Quran burnings. They say that NATO has agreed to have them face trial. So let me get this straight. The United States has spent Trillions to protect Afghanistan from the Taliban. We protect the Karzai regime -- he'd have been ousted by now without the US. We give them foreign aid. Despite all of that, we allow NATO to be the organization that gives the go-ahead in this? Where is Obama's leadership on this issue? Here is what was posted on the Afghanistan government page. NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nation's demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible. Another source: WND UPDATE: March 6, 2012 Rod Powers from USMilitary.About.com writes: In a development that could chill the dedication of every soldier in the field, the U.S. government has refused to deny reports by the government of Afghanistan that NATO has agreed to have the soldiers who burned copies of the Quran face trial, according to a WND story. |
