Whitehouse Admits They Asked Media to Scrub Reports of Daughter's Vacation

Malia Obama is on vacation to Mexico with 12 friends. 25 secret service agents are there to protect them. And though it was reported in the media, it has been scrubbed.

From the beginning of the administration, the White House has asked news outlets not to report on or photograph the Obama children when they are not with their parents and there is no vital news interest. We have reminded outlets of this request in order to protect the privacy and security of these girls.
How much is this vacation costing the taxpayers?
Isn't it scary the power the Whitehouse has over the media? Whether it was the Bush twins, Chelsea Clinton, or even Bristol Palin, we seemed to know their every move. Do we even have a free press anymore? What other details are the media withholding from us?
